Lorton, Virginia is located outside the Washington, DC beltway near I-95. Travel to DC along I-95 is a direct route north. One can take go to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station to take the Metrorail Blue Line to DC. There is also the VRE (Virginia Railway Express) station in Lorton. The train can take one as far north as Union Station in DC. Lorton is in Fairfax County on the north side of the Occoquan River. It has some very nice, scenic parks at Pohick Bay Regional Park and Occoquan Regional Park. Home prices are relatively lower than homes inside the DC beltway, so Lorton is a popular area for home buyers and renters.
