Metrorail in the Washington DC area extends to three primary areas of Northern Virginia. The blue line travels to Alexandria and Springfield near the I-95 Interstate area. The orange line extends to Vienna near I-66. The Silver Line extends to Reston and will extend to Dulles Airport and beyond to Ashburn with expected completion date in 2020. This follows along the vehicle interstate of the Dulles Toll Road in Fairfax County and the Dulles Greenway in Ashburn which extends to Leesburg, VA.
